Adam C. Nicolai, Esq.

Founder/Principal Attorney

Adam has spent his entire career in the legal industry.  He began as an after-school teenage file clerk at a small law office and worked his way up the ladder as a legal assistant, law clerk, and eventually an attorney.  Adam never forgets that his clients are people with unique goals, motivations, and values.  He keeps his clients involved and personally guides them in making important decisions about their cases, calmly and effectively.  He lets his clients know what is going on at every stage of the process, and explains important details of their matter so that clients can help him steer their case towards their desired outcome.

Adam attended Loyola Marymount University where he graduated Magna Cum Laude in 2006 with a degree in History and a minor in Philosophy. By 2013, Adam graduated from the California State Bar‘s Law Office Study Program, passed the California Bar Exam, and was admitted to practice law before all courts in the State of California and in the United States District Courts for the Central, Northern, Southern, and Eastern Districts of California.

Adam has practiced law for over 10 years, representing clients in a wide variety of cases and matters involving areas of law such as wills, trusts and estates, real estate, business and corporate, employment law, securities arbitration and regulatory matters, personal injury, and collections.  He worked as an associate attorney at a national law firm before becoming a partner at his own firm for the next several years.  As a solo practitioner from 2019 to 2021 (during the pandemic), Adam pushed through his client’s cases, resulting in hundreds of thousands of dollars in recovery.  On the defense side, Adam’s clients paid out less than $100,000 on approximately $2 million in claims.  In addition to litigation, Adam prepared estate plans and related documents for clients, and he reviewed, analyzed and drafted many contracts and other transactional documents for individuals and businesses.

After serving as Senior Counsel at a reputable Los Angeles and South Bay-based law firm during the last two years where he worked on complex legal matters and gained further experience and excellent results for clients, Adam had the burning desire to return to his own practice where he could fully represent the clients in need of his services.  In 2023, Nicolai Law Firm has prepared dozens of trusts, wills, and estate plans for individuals and families, as well as litigated high-stakes cases in California civil and probate courts and the Financial Industry Regulatory Authority (FINRA) nationwide securities arbitration forum.  Nicolai Law Firm has also represented and advised small businesses in various industries, employers and employees, creditors and debtors in collection matters, and landlords and tenants.

Adam is active in the legal community.  He has held memberships with the Beverly Hills Bar Association, the Federalist Society, and the Benjamin Aranda, III American Inn of Court.  He is also active with his family and in the community.  He is married to Isabel, and has a 21-year-old son, Bryan, who is a Legal Assistant at the firm.  Adam has held long-term memberships on the El Segundo United Methodist Church Board of Trustees and Board of Directors of his HOA.  He has coached youth sports for many years and currently coaches Babe Ruth Baseball at the 13-15-year-old level.  He has played in adult hardball leagues on Sundays for the last 17 years.

Bryan A. Nicolai

Legal Assistant

True to its spirit of being at its core a family-owned and operated law practice, Bryan Nicolai joined the firm as a Legal Assistant in 2023.  Bryan had been helping Adam with legal projects as a contractor since 2020. His work product was excellent, and he also displayed the level of intellect and demeanor needed in what can be a very challenging profession. With the practice growing and becoming busier each month, it was a no-brainer to bring Bryan aboard in an official capacity. Bryan has made an immediate impact on the firm’s productivity and bandwidth to meet the needs of its increasing client workload.
