ESTATE PLANNING - ESSENTIAL DOCUMENTS

Updated: Feb 22, 2023

We had a potential client ask us recently, "What are the essential documents I need for an estate plan?"

Well, while everyone has their own unique circumstances, most individuals and couples need a combination of:

1. Revocable Living Trust

2. Will

3. Power of Attorney for Finances

4. Advance Healthcare Directive

5. Real Property Title Transfer paperwork

And if you have pets, you'll likely need a Pet Trust for their care and maintenance in the event you become unable to care for them.

If you already have estate planning documents in place, you should also be sure to have them reviewed and updated periodically or if a major life event (for example, a death in the family, marriage, or birth of a child) changes your circumstances.

Nicolai Law Firm can guide you through and be there for you in planning your estate. It is one of the most important things you will have to do in your adult life, so why not get it done and get it right? Please contact us at info@nicolailawfirm.com or 310.714.7034.
